Week 9 College Football Observations

It has been a while since I’ve been free on a Saturday and able to make my weekly college football observations. Over the last three weeks, I’ve had a wedding to attend with the girlfriend, ALCS Games 1 & 2 to attend, and my college Homecoming and alumni baseball game to participate in, so my college football observations have been missing.

This week, I tried to make up for the lost time, however. I watched a lot of college football as I tried to flip back and forth between the several games that were televised throughout the day on Saturday.

There were some huge matchups for the top 10 teams that didn’t disappoint and a lot of blowouts of overmatched teams, but here are 78 observations about certain players and teams from 11 of Saturday’s games I was able to watch in between the World Series and UFC fighting:

Week 5 College Football Observations

Last week, I was fortunate enough to get a hold of 5th row seats to the Florida/Tennessee game (thanks to Andrew and the Shelbyville crew). Unfortunately, that meant I was unable to make my weekly college football observations. This week, I tried to make up for it, however.

I watched as much college football as I possibly could this weekend. I tried to flip back and forth between the several games that were televised throughout the day on Saturday (as well as Thursday night’s game).

There were some huge matchups and some true battles, but this weekend will be known for all of the upsets (six Top 25 teams lost to unranked teams). Here are 49 observations about certain players and teams from 10 of the games I was able to watch:

Week 2 College Football Observations

I watched several of the college football games that were televised throughout the day on Saturday. There were some good games, some blowouts, some close calls, and another upset for East Carolina.

I didn’t get to watch much of the late games because I had to go to work, but here are some things I observed about certain players and teams from the games I was able to see:

* East Carolina is no joke. They are a physical squad that wasn’t afraid of West Virginia or their high powered offense. Just like last week against Virginia Tech, they were tougher than their BCS conference foe.
