The Blue Workhorse

A lot of close games this past week. In fact, only 3 games had a margin of victory greater than 10 points. The big winners: the Jets and the Cowboys both scored huge divisional victories while Denver victory over Atlanta (combined with San Diego’s loss) gives the Broncos a commanding lead in the AFC West.

At the top of the rankings, the top four teams remain the same with the Tennessee Titans. After that there is plenty of shakeup led by big gains from Dallas and Indianapolis while teams 10-13 all fell after being Top 10 teams last week.

With close wins, the Jets and Vikings both jump up 6 spots. Ok, so the Jets win wasn’t so close. But the Vikes won a critical divisional game against the Packers, who fell 10 spots with the loss.

At the top of the rankings, there is only a swap of the #3 & #4 positions with the Titans and Giants remaining at the summit of our poll. The top five are a signal ofthe rest of the poll as this week’s rankings are a lot more stable than most weeks.

We weren’t able to produce our weekly power rankings last week due to Internet access issues here at home base, but we’re back with The Blue Workhorse Week 9 NFL Power Rankings. The top four spots are unanimous with the Titans remaining #1.

The Bills got a big win against San Diego showing that the Bills are ready for the big stage while the Dallas Cowboys looked atrocious against a St. Louis team that until 2 weeks ago appeared to be in the running for the worst NFL team ever. But how did these and the remaining games affect the rankings?

With the Cowboys still the unanimous #1 selection by everyone, the Giants undefeated, and the Eagles coming off a 15-9 win over last week’s #2 Pittsburgh, could it be possible the beast conference that is the NFC East could have the top three teams in the Sports Blog Power Rankings?
