Lots of great stuff this week from fantasy baseball awards to college football freshman to a sports blogger trying out for a professional team to a ridiculous hockey play:

  • Need a Halloween costume? - Epic Carnival gives you the top ten sports related Halloween costumes of 2008. I still think the idea I came up with last year is the best (just check in the comments of the story).
  • GameDay Classic Signage - Busted Coverage has the 20 all-time best ESPN College Gameday signs. The ones mentioned in the comments are classic as well.
  • Best GameDay Sign. Ever. - From the Auburn/LSU game last month.
  • The SEC Coaches - Vol Nation has the 12 head coaches of the SEC…South Park style. Note Phil Fulmer’s cookie and Nick Saban’s moneybags.
  • Manny Being Manipulated - This is a really long story, but Bill Simmons shines the light on the real villain that caused Manny Ramirez to be traded out of Boston. (Side note: I don’t know how you can’t love Manny. He just loves playing baseball, and all he does is hit the crap out of the baseball.)
  • Not Your Ordinary Fantasy Baseball Awards - The guys at Razzball pass out the traditional fantasy awards (MVP, Cy Young, etc.) and then deliver their own awards, such as “Top Cuddle Boy” or “Player You Most Wanted to Run Over With a Tractor.”
  • Bloggers are Athletic? - We thought we were the only athletic bloggers, but Ryan McNeill of Hoops Addict is proving us wrong by trying out for the Idaho Stampede, an NBDL team.
  • Free Agents by Position - Is your favorite MLB team’s (Cubs, Yankees, White Sox, etc.) season over already? Well, look forward to next season. Bay Area Baseball helps you to by giving you the free agents for each position (Note: the link takes you to 1B, but if you search the site you can locate each individual position).
  • Fabulous Frosh - The Angry T gives you a list of some of the most talented frosh along with some YouTube vids of what makes them spectacular. (Yea, A.J. Green’s high school catch was absoutely ridiculous.)
  • Top 50 Sports Blogs - Yea…we won’t be making this list any time soon.
  • Cuzoogle’s Pigskin Picks - After 5 weeks and a terrible 7-7 record last week, we’re in the middle of the pack, but still have a shot since we are only 5 games back from Zoner Sports in the overall standings.
