Is Sam Bradford still throwing touchdowns? Because that seemed to be the only thing he could do on Saturday night. Oklahoma’s dominating performance against Texas Tech shakes up our rankings a bit and makes the BCS even more confusing.

Another week means another re-evaluation, and thus, we give you our new The Blue Workhorse College Football Top 25 after Week 12. Some things to note from this week’s rankings:

  • Alabama is a unanimous #1, but our voters are split over who should be ranked #2. Half are for Florida while the other half are for Texas, yet even with the second place votes, the Longhorns are still tied with their rivals in third.
  • While being idle this weekend, Oklahoma State lost one point and, subsequently, dropped two spots to #12.
  • New squads: The Ramblin ‘Wreck, the ‘Noles, and the Quack Attack all bound back into the rankings from 19-21 while Northwestern and Ole Miss occupy the final two spots of this week’s poll.
  • Biggest gainer: Georgia Tech jumps from out of the Top 25 to #19, but the two teams ranked last week that gained the most were Oregon State and Boston College. Both teams got big conference wins and need one more this weekend to secure berths (OSU to the Rose Bowl as Pac-10 champs & BC to the ACC Championship as Atlantic Division champs).
  • Biggest loser: Michigan State falls 7 spots after once again getting trounced by a strong opponent.
  • The non-BCS strikes: Utah and Boise State still sit at #7 & #8 while BYU and Ball State are also in the Top 15.
  • Teams by conference: Big XII - 5; SEC - 4; Big 10 - 4; ACC - 3; MWC - 3; Pac 10 - 3; Big East - 1; WAC - 1; MAC - 1.

What the Voters Have to Say:

  • DRang: “I rank Oklahoma ahead of Texas because I think Oklahoma is the better team right now.”
  • Heisman: “I am really liking my prediction of Oklahoma and Florida in the BCS Championship Game right now. Also, kudos to Texas Tech for keeping the streak alive this long.”
  • Rosenblogger: “I don’t think they are the best team in the Big 12, but the Texas Longhorns are the Most Deserving to play for the Big 12 Title.”
  • Shotgun Spratling: “The BCS is shit, and this year could make it look even worse. If rivalry weekend somehow ends up being upset weekend, the top two BCS contenders could possibly be a non-conference champ and a team from a non-BCS conference.”
