Super Recruit Terrelle Pryor Narrows to Two Teams
UPDATE: Terrelle Pryor has signed a letter of intent to play for Coach Jim Tressel and the Ohio State Buckeyes. [link]
Six-foot-six-inch Terrelle Pryor, also 235 pounds, helped lead his team to the Pennsylvania Class AA state basketball championship by pouring in 23 points and 8 rebounds in a 76-72 overtime victory over Strawberry Mansion and all everyone wants to talk about is…football?
That’s because Pryor is also led his team to state championship in football. It doesn’t hurt that he is the consensus #1 football player in the nation as a 6-foot-6 quarterback with great arm strength to go along with the quickness and agility he has displayed on the hardwood.
Despite National Signing Day having come and gone, Pryor remains the only top 50 recruit (according to Rivals.com), and one of only two top 100 recruits (with #66 Devoe Torrence being the other), without a college to officially call home.
Pryor had managed to narrow his choices to four schools (Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State, and Oregon), and it appears Pryor will be making his selection this week.
According to Rivals.com’s National Recruiting Analyst, Mike Farrell, Pryor’s selection will only be between two schools as he has narrowed his choices. But which two schools does Farrell claim are still in the running?
The most hyped recruiting decision in college football history will come down to none other than bitter rivals Ohio State and Michigan.
Regardless of which school the young phenom decides to attend, it is guaranteed he will be forever hated by the fans of the other. Much as Tim Tebow is absolutely detested by nearly everyone in and around the community in Tallahassee after he chose Urban Meyer and Florida over Bobby Bowden and the war chanting Florida State Seminoles, Pryor’s name will be uttered in ire and anger and be plastered on many demeaning and belittling signs when he enters the Big House or the Horseshoe as an opposing player.
We wish Pryor the best of luck and hope he can live up to his potential and is able to use his fame and celebrity to do good things in his hometown of Jeannette, Pennsylvania.
