Kings’ Dancers More Entertaining than Team
With Mike Bibby about to make his home debut in Atlanta, I decided to look into who the Hawks were playing and whether or not I would attend the game.
Believe it or not, Bibby makes the home debut against the same team he made his Hawks debut against, which is the same team he spent the last 7 seasons with, the Sacramento Kings.
While attempting to see what Kings’ fans and bloggers were saying since receiving Mr. FiveHead/Mr. Candace Parker/’The Landlord’ Shelden Williams, Anthony Johnson, and Tyronn Lue, I instead became aware of the Sacramento Kings’ dancers, and their recent exploits.
The Royal Court dancers, as the Kings’ dancers are named, got themselves into some hot water a couple of weeks ago and could possibly face disciplinary actions after some photos of the dancers were taken from PhotoBucket galleries and began making their rounds on blogs such as Don Chavez and WithLeather. Many of the photos are sexually suggestive and some have the dancers drinking in their uniforms. While all of the photos can be found here and here at WithLeather, below is one of the tame photos from those found:

After the photos began circulating, the Kings issued a statement: “(The pictures) do not adhere to the principles and values of the Sacramento Kings organization.” However, none of this was an issue when the photos first began circulating. Instead, it took a local newspaper to raise awareness of the situation and blow it all out of proportion.
Probably, the best part of this (for the heterosexual male population) is that the Royal Court dancers are now being challenged by the Washington Wizards dancers for the raunchiest pics floating around the Internet after Don Chavez posted three separate galleries of their late night excursions.
All of these postings are bittersweet to an Atlanta fan because unless I want to live vicariously through Tyronn Lue somehow (as he seems like he could get with some dance team floozy) or unless I want to stalk one of the dancers on Myspace (which could still be a viable option), the only thing that is coming to Philips Arena tonight to battle against the Hawks is the Sacramento Kings basketball team.
And for some weird reason, two sloppy teams that are a combined 4-13 in their last 17 games are less appealing than dance team members that like to drink away their sorrows (and pants sometimes) after watching their hapless basketball team play, so therefore, it doesn’t appear I will be in attendance tonight as the Kings battle the Hawks in a rematch to determine who got the better end of the trade.
