Thanks in Order

I came to the realization last night when I almost forgot to say thank you to my girlfriend’s mother for taking her family and me out to dinner at Longhorns that I’ve not been giving out enough thanks where they are due lately.
Because every once in a while you need to thank those around you […]

A Man Torn by his Inner Fanhood

Something has been eating away at my soul for the past couple of months, causing me to lose sleep, have bouts with indigestion, and take a look at how I have lived my 22 years of life thus far, and how I want to finish my life on this earth.
No, it isn’t the death of […]

Heisman Winner Talks About Personality Disorder

Herschel Walker is probably the most revered football player in the state of Georgia, but it was shocking to almost everyone when he revealed in January that he has dealt with multiple personality disorder, or dissociative identity disorder as it is more commonly referred to today. Even those close to him, including his father, Willis; his college football coach, UGA legend Vince Dooley’ and good friend Frank Roz, who played at Georgia with Walker, were surprised.

Pro Athletes Involved in Prostitution Ring?

“Sex, drugs and high rollers. A former prostitute said all three were in play during wild sex parties at an exclusive Denver social club.” (CBS4 in Denver)

Top 9 Sports Paraphernalia Traditions (in honor of Myron Cope’s Terrible Towel)

Many sports teams have fan traditions that can be seen as fun, funny, or just goofy. Some traditions are universal in all stadiums (such as the wave), some are sport specific (throwing hats on the ice after a hat trick in hockey), and some traditions are only performed in individual stadiums (throwing back a home run hit by an opposing team and singing “Take Me Out to the Ball Game” at Wrigley Field) or by the fans of individual teams (the New York Jets chanting “J-E-T-S, Jets, Jets, Jets”).

While it may look foolish when one person stands and waves a towel or a foam tomahawk, 30000, 50000 or even 100000 rabid fans yelling and waving a piece of sports paraphernalia becomes an imposing spectacle for an opposing fan or team member.

With the recent passing of Pittsburgh Steelers famed broadcaster Myron Cope, who was perhaps most famously known for his creation of the “Terrible Towel” waved frequently by the Steelers’ fans, we’re decided to honor Cope and his “Terrible Towel” with a list of the top 9 (we’re anti-top 5 and top 10) paraphernalia traditions in sports:

A Weekend in LA…and why Justin Timberlake sucks

There is a lot of shit going down in the world of sports. The NBA had its All-Star game, which features the tallest and least sloppy basketball players from across the country. Clemens (and his wife?) allegedly used steroids, but just for better sex, so I can condone.

With all this excitement in the sports realm, it makes almost too much sense that I would want to talk about Justin Timberlake, Erik Estrada (the guy from “Chips”), snowboarding, and Rockband.
