Thanks in Order
I came to the realization last night when I almost forgot to say thank you to my girlfriend’s mother for taking her family and me out to dinner at Longhorns that I’ve not been giving out enough thanks where they are due lately.
Because every once in a while you need to thank those around you and those that are able to lend a helping hand (or link). So that’s what this post is about…
First off, I have to thank the guys that help write for The Blue Workhorse. I’m grateful for all the assistance and content they provide. They have helped spread the word, add some insights, and when I’m not able to write something spectacular about everything, they are at least there to write something that can at least be classified as “not so bad.”
Collectively The Blue Workhorse staff sends thanks to Mariano Wagner for designing our logo (which can be seen on our profile at any number of social marketing sites: YardBarker, MyBlogLog, BallHype, Mixx, Digg, Propeller, etc. — which you should add us as a friend if you are a member of). Also, thanks to Blogigs.com for helping us to eventually implement it into the header of our site (when I find a bit of spare time).
We have also just been added by YardBarker to be one of their blogging affiliates in their blog network. If you haven’t checked out YardBarker, we HIGHLY suggest it. Let’s put it this way…YardBarker is the place to be if you are a sports fan. You can get your sports news and information from some of the leading sports bloggers and the most interesting part of the site is that they also have professional athletes blogging on the site from Donovan McNabb to Greg Oden to some of the upcoming NFL draft picks, including Darren McFadden.
Another person to thank has to be Kellex from The Sports Dollar who helped us out by reviewing the site and sending us a little traffic.
When it comes to passing us some traffic, there is no doubt I have to include Sic ‘Em Dawgs, Dawg Sports, and the message boards at Dawg Run for passing on our tribute to University of Georgia basketball seniors Dave Bliss and Sundiata Gaines for their heroic run in the SEC tournament and first round of the NCAA tourney.
We also need to send thanks to Today’s ACC Headlines for linking our analysis on America’s love affair with Tyler Hansbrough. Today’s ACC Headlines and any other sites that did the same deserves thanks for remembering to tribute the victims from that fateful April day at Virginia Tech last year. So much has transpired in a year that sometimes we forget the things that have occurred only a mere 365 days ago.
An Opinion On Sports, Sports Nation, and Walker-Sports also receive our thanks for being three young sports blogs to add us to their blog rolls. If you haven’t checked any of the three, a definite must, especially Sports Nation’s Top 10 Awesome Fan Signs, which has some hilarious fan signage.
We also want to send out thanks to Winning the Web for their ridiculous contest they held last month. We were fortunate enough to win one of the awesome prizes (and we appreciate OIO Publishers for providing that prize). We also are planning to win a prize (ok, well we are hoping) in Hochstadt’s Party Contest. If you are interested in winning prizes, Hochstadt.com’s contest is one you should check out. Lastly and most importantly, we MUST thank everyone that has taken the time to read one of our articles. It may not seem like a lot, but that’s the reason we write.
